2012 Ultimate Blog Party

Ultimate Blog Party 2012

My name is Kim McIlrath.  Welcome to my blog, Singledou[b]t.

I am a single woman living in New York City.  I moved to the city almost 9 years ago expecting to only be here a couple of years but soon found myself in love and desiring not to leave.

I am a "struggling" artist.  By struggling, I mean I love to create but I am shy so my art often takes a back seat.  I love photography, writing, knitting, cooking, and creating.  I find life in finding ways to create or recreate.

My blog was started almost a year ago as I felt an itch to leave my 9-5 and pursue my artistic passions.  Writing has been something I have done since I was 9 or 10 but never let the world see it.  I finally decided to take the plunge and let those around me see my various musings.

My blog is as eclectic as I am.  Most days its centered around my faith and what I am learning.  Other days its focused on what I am creating.  My heart and goal for my blog is to share what I am learning, whether its in my creating or from my faith in the living God.  Often times, I am processing out loud and love to hear how others have learned from similar experiences. Blogging is a way for me to channel my creativity, an outlet for the things that I am passionate about.

I love to learn. I love to find new ways to express myself.  One thing I want to see come out of being a part of blogging communities is having a fresh perspective on the world and lives around me.  Seeing how blogging and living life out loud affects others in a positive way is an area I want to continue to grow in.

  2. So nice to "meet" you via the UBP link up. Your site is full of fun things. The pictures in your recipe section look so yummy...pumpkin sandwich cookies...I may have to try that one, and I'm not much of a baker anymore. I'm following you on Twitter and Pinterest and look forward to hearing more from you. If you'd like to view my UBP intro page, it's here: http://biblelovenotes.blogspot.com/p/ultimate-blog-party.html.

    Aloha,
stopping in from the UBP to be your newest follower. I can't wait to see what you do next. I'd love it if you and your artistic soul would "join the ride" at localsugarhawaii.com. We're a new little blog, but we're a good little blog.

    xoxo,
