Shabby Apple Dreams

If you are a part of the blogging world, I am sure you have seen this Brand hanging around!  I have been eyeing Shabby Apple's stuff for months now wishing and dreaming I'd one day own one of their dresses.  I have a wish list but that's as close as I can get to owning their stuff right now. Living on half an income in NYC only allows the essentials... and even that is tough these days.

Anyway,  they always have a sale going on and this week for my readers, they have a 10% off sale site wide if you use the code: favorite10.  The offer expires this Friday, September 14th.

They have more then just dresses. They have accessories, bathing suits, skirts, shirts, artwork, etc.

In honor of Shabby Apple and their sale, I thought I'd do a quick post on my favorites!

These are just a few of the ones I have been drooling over lately. Aren't they just so adorable?  On top of their classic style, I love their photography.  The way they shoot their items is right up my ally.

I hope you get the chance to take a look around their site!  You'll soon get hooked too.

Here are some of their BEST SELLING SHABBY APPLE DRESSES so far this year:

Thanks for stopping by today!

Note - The thoughts and opinions in this post are 100% mine.  Regardless of affiliation, i am a true fan of the work Shabby Apple does.

Challenge: Kim the Dress Maker???

I am not a big fashion person... well secretly I guess I am but you'd never know it by what i wear.  :)  Last year, I bought two Maxi type dresses because of the heat here in the city... ok let me rephrase that.  Because of the non-ac driven city I live in.
I know... its getting old, but seriously, it dictates your life.

Anyway... chasing rabbits today?

Maxi Dress....  I bought two last summer from H&M.  I practically live in them this summer. They are so light and airy and comfortable.

I live on a very limited budget so buying new clothes is rare.  While I was home, I was shopping in target when I found this:

Target.com
Now, I think this looks great on some people but for me and my slightly curvy bottom half, it just was a tad too revealing.  The funny part of the find was I grabbed it from the racks thinking it was a dress... just to get to the changing room and realize it was pants... Not a style I can pull off. Trust me.

So, I looked closely at the outfit and determined that I could re-create this but make it a dress.

Now, your first question is probably, "Can You Sew".  Yes... ok well sort of. I am able and willing so I think i can make it happen....

So off I went with my Mom to JoAnn's in search of elastic thread, material and possibly a pattern.  I found the thread right away.  The material was a struggle and the pattern didn't exist.  But I am determined to make it work.  I looked up and practiced shearing.

I am still searching for some pieces to make it work but I am definitely determined.

I am slightly chomping at the bit to get those items in so I can get to work on it.  Its a good thing I have been busy lately! In the mean time, I thought I'd show you the items that help inspire what I want to do.

JCPenny
JCrew

White House Black Market

Aren't they adorable? I think so!  Lets see how it all turns out!  I'll definitely keep you posted.  Good or Bad! Here's to hoping its good!
